Pastor Mike and our Youth Staff provide Christian Education opportunities for students each week — meeting in the Lower Level of the building from 10:00 – 10:45 AM each Sunday.  This is a time of Bible study, worship, and fun.  Many different teaching methods are used to bring the Word of God to students in a way that they can understand and apply.  Middle School and High School students generally meet together for the first fifteen minutes before separating into the Middle School and High School classes.

the ZONE

Wednesday Nights from 6:45-8:00 in the Youth Room!

The Zone includes Bible Study as well as games, interaction with friends, service opportunities and worship. This time is not as structured as Christian Education on Sunday mornings. It provides a good opportunity for students to bring visitors. Fun is an important part of these meetings and allows students to be able to have fun together in a constructive manner. Bible Study is also a key component of these meetings. The Bible Study challenges the youth to obey God’s Word in their daily lives.

The last Wednesday night of each month is “Service Night”. The students meet in the youth room at 6:45 and then go out into the community with our Youth Staff to share the love of Christ through tangible acts of kindness.

Do you really want to be challenged to grow deeper in your faith and commitment to God?

Join a Cross-Training group. Cross-Training groups are more than just Bible Study groups.  In Luke 9:23, Jesus tells His followers that “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”   Cross-Training groups will help each student establish spiritual disciplines to grow in their understanding of as well as in their devotion and service to God and help hold each other accountable for our daily actions and attitudes.  Cross-Training groups meet weekly at a time established by the members of the group and their leader.  The accountability provided in these groups, along with the studies, Scripture memory, Bible reading, peer interaction and counseling, and developed relationships with the leader, help give students who desire to be challenged and grow in their faith a wonderful opportunity to do so.

Service Hours Last Year

Each summer (usually beginning the Friday following Memorial Day), the students of Mountain View take a ministry trip.  Our students have ministered in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mexico, Montana, Wisconsin, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Arkansas, Illinois, and Iowa.

Our goals for this trip are two-fold. First, to “Leave His Mark” on all with whom we have contact.  We have a wonderful opportunity to share the truth of Christ not only with those at our destination, but at every stop along our journey.  Our second goal is challenge our students to live for Christ, and to expose our students to a variety of ministries, in order to encourage them to consider how they may serve Christ with their lives.  There are a variety of ways for someone to impact the world for Christ, and we strive to show our students some of these ways and the leaders God uses in this process.
